Carpathian Empire

The Carpathian Empire was formed when a group of friends (whom for security reasons shall remain nameless) gathered together and agreed that the government of their current country was not working to its full potential. As such, they agreed that they should create a new-country, one which would eventually be officially recognised by the World, and be among the most powerful nations on Earth.

The Empire's government
The Empire is ruled by 4 Praetors, who, every 6 months, elect an Emperor to be head of state. In this way no single person can have complete control over the Empire long enough to become corrupt. The first Emperor was Emperor Cetanu, the founder of the Empire. To decide on matter, the Council votes, with the Emperor having the deciding vote in the case of draw.

The First Invernian War
Begun just 5 days after the formation of the Empire. 2 days after Carpathia was formed, a group nearby formed the independent State of Invernia. In an attempt to form an alliance, the Praetors met with Lord Kieranus. However, due to a misunderstanding of Carpathian intentions, the Invernians declared war on Carpathia believing that the Empire wished to take control of both lands. The war lasted a mere week, with the Carpathians emerging victorious.A treaty was signed which allowed the Invernians to keep their land, but to pay tribute to the Carpathians.
The Empire's Development
After the war, the Empire's economy boomed. As several defects of the Invernian State joined the Empire, along with the subsuming of the Socialist Republic of Sholonia into the Empire. After the war, Sholonia's government dissolved due to disinterest. The most willing of Sholonia's ruling government turned to Carpathia. After several talks, the Sholonian nation disintegrated and those willing to became Carpathian Empire citizens.
As well as that, a huge influx of funds came into the Empire's coffers. As the nation was relatively small, the majority of the funds were put into a bank account. However, this money would soon be withdrawn, not for peaceful or normal purposes, but in order to keep the Empire in existence.
The Second Invernian War
Invernia was believed to have dissolved due to lack of interest and funds after the war. However, this was soon found to be untrue. A threatening message was sent to Praetor Greyian, describing how Carpathia was soon to be destroyed, and giving the address's of two Praetors in the Imperial Council. The password of the hotmail address from which the e-mail had come. After searching the entire account, several messages were found. One detailed how the e-mail account had already been abandoned, and another giving a message about how Invernia still existed. But by far the most disturbing item, was how the messenger (calling himself Mickey Mouse) had the e-mail address of several of Greyian friends.
Sice then there has been on recorded instance of a military attack on a Praetor. Praetor Cetanu (the Emperor at the typing of this) was attacked while monitoring Carpathian borders. While Cetanu was left unharmed, it is obvious that the threat of Invernia still exists.
