|The Imperially Administrative Republic of Malvaria was a dependent territory of the Empire and Kingdom of Austro-Bulgarian Hungermany|
The Republic of Malvaria, officially known as the Imperial Administrative Republic of Malvaria and commonly known simply as Malvaria, was a non-autonomous republic and dependent territory within the Empire and Kingdom of Austro-Bulgarian Hungermany.
It was one of the two administrative regions within Austro-Bulgarian Hungermany that were under direct control of the government.
The republic was formed after the fall of the Dycouvious Republic in December 2014, where it was incorporated into the ABHG. The republic was an enclave, completely surrounded by the United States of America.
On 24 May 2015, the Republic's territory was annexed into the Provisional Territories of the F.A.R.T. as the Protectorate of Austro-Bulgarian Hungermany.
The name "Malvaria" was a portmanteau of the first three letters of the U.S. city in which the nation was originally located, followed by the suffix "-varia" (a common German suffix when translated to English).
See main article.
From June 2014 until October of the same year, Malvaria was dubbed the Dycouvious Republic. Governed by King Karl Brandenburg, Dycouvious had a rocky existence.
After the coup d'état which forced Brandenburg out of power in October, the territories which now currently comprise Malvaria were controlled by a provisional military junta, still under the Dycouvious Republic moniker.
The Republic of Malvaria was created by Brandenburg after the fall of the Dycouvious Republic in December 2010. It was established as a "central republic and seat of government for the newly established sovereign nation, The Empire and Kingdom of Austro-Bulgarian Hungermany." Brandenburg established the provincial boundaries in the same manner as the Dycouvious Republic, and renamed the capital city (Dycouvia) to Bradesburg.
After a treaty was signed in the Republic on 24 May 2015, Supreme Dictator Vladimir Veselovsky of the F.A.R.T. and Emperor-King Karl Brandenburg of the ABHG agreed that the former territories of the Republic of Malvaria were to become the Protectorate of Austro-Bulgarian Hungermany.
Administrative Divisions Edit
Malvaria, as a sub-national entity, was further divided into three provinces and one territory. They were as follows:
• Western Province encompassed the western third of the republic. It housed the entire permanent population of Malvaria along with the Emperor-King. Also included were the capital city of Bradesburg, the Imperial Palace, the Imperial Swimming Pool and the Brandenburg Jacuzzi. Portions of Brandenburg Avenue and Communo-Fascist Road ran through this province. In the province's northwest, a United States border checkpoint was present, although it is only serviceable by foot. The capital city of Bradesburg encompassed three rooms and a population of 3, while the Greater Bradesburg Metropolitan Area housed all five residents.
• Central Province was a rural region, with only one small building within its borders. This building housed the National Armory and the National Relaxation Lounge. Brandenburg Avenue ran through the centre of the province, while Communo-Fascist Road ran through the south. The Central Province was also significant in that the Imperial Automobiles were stored there.
• Eastern Province was the smallest province by land area, but it contained two buildings with many facilities. It was home to the National Hotel, Imperial Gymnasium, National Recreational Plaza, and the Official State Cinema. In its easternmost regions, the Eastern Province housed the National Toolshed and the only vessel in the Austro-Bulgarian Hungerman Navy. It was serviced by Brandenburg Avenue and Imperial Road.
• Far-Eastern Territory was a relatively narrow strip of land with no population or permanent structures. It did, however, offer some interesting trees and foliage. The Far-Eastern Territory contained the near entirety of the Imperial Road, and it offered the only border checkpoint to the United States that was serviceable by automobile.
Government & Politics Edit
Of all the Austro-Bulgarian Hungerman republics, Malvaria was unique in that it was the only dependent administrative region to be governed directly by the Emperor-King himself. It was also unique in that it was one of the only two republics to actually be under control of the ABHG during its existence.
In theory, the Emperor-King had even more power in Malvaria than in the ABHG itself, since the ABHG had a council of 250 members while Malvaria's council only had six. However, all members of both councils were made to swear allegiance to the Emperor-King, so in practice the ruler had an immense amount of power in both political entities.
The Malvarian Council was hand-picked by the Emperor-King, considering that the republic had only 5-10 citizens on hand at one time.
Geography & Climate Edit
Malvaria consistently maintained a warm year-round climate, with average summer daytime highs between 21-26°C (70-79°F) and average winter nighttime lows between 6-12°C (43-54°C). However, temperatures were known to rise above 38°C (100°F) and drop below 2°C (36°F) on uncommon occasions during the year. The coastal location gave the republic a relatively moderate climate. Weather was mild, with 281 sunny days per year and only around 32 rainy days per year.
The republic was entirely located within a coastal chaparral biome, and contained two bodies of water: the Imperial Swimming Pool and the Brandenburg Jacuzzi.
