Imvrassia, officially the Empire of Imvrassia was founded on 11 May 2011 and its sovereignty extends over natural terrain, such as houses and land plots in different regions in Greece, Spain and Germany.
Inspired by the ancient Greek and Roman history, the foundation and independence of Imvrassia was proclaimed on 11 May 2011 by the first monarch and Head of State, Prince Aggelos. On this day, the declaration of Independence of Imvrassia was published and announced the establishment of the new state, which was organized as a Principality. Five days later, the Prince gave and enacted the first Constitution of Imvrassia, establishing the constitutional monarchy as a political system of governance.
On the 7th of March, 2012 the Government of Imvrassia proceeded to reorganize the Heptarchy of New Herakleia, an inactive Hellenic micronation in Chalkidiki, Greece, proclaiming the creation of a new state, under the rule of the Prince of Imvrassia. Also, in this year, on the 11th of December, Imvrassia put under protectorate status the Despotate of New Mystras. The personal union with the Heptarchy of New Herakleia ended on the 12th January, 2013 with the Prince's resignation from his position as Head of State.
The Imvrassian Government from 1 May 2013, was set together with Mouzilo, under a protectorate status the then Empire of Thrace (from the 7th of October, 2015 has being a Despotate), an inactive micronation with claims in the Eastern Balkan Peninsula. On the 28th of June, 2013, Prince Aggelos founded a new micronation, the Principality of Koumaradia and on its throne placed his oldest child, Princess Aikaterini. This micronation finally abolished on 04 October 2013 and its territories reintegrated in Imvrassia. As a culmination of diplomatic activity of Imvrassia, was founded on 25th of November, 2013. The Commonwealth of Hellenic Micronations, with the Imvrassian Monarch assuming the leadership role of it. From the 15th of December 2013 until the 19th of June, 2016 Imvrassia was the only independent Hellenic micronation, after the accession of Mouzilo into the Ashukov Federation and the foundation of the Principality of Doriea. On the 8th of May, 2015 the Imvrassian land expanded with the accession of a new territory known as the Province of Karlia. Since early in October of 2015, the Province was beginning to develop a separatist movement along with the province of Koumaradia which had the support of some members of the Princely House. This had the effect of granting full autonomy to the region by the Crown and the creation of an autonomous state. The autonomy continued until the 16th of September, 2016 when the region became an Imvrassian Province again.
Kingdom Proclaimed[]
On the 21st of March, 2016, Prince Aggelos assumed the title of King along with the rise in status of Imvrassia to the status of a Kingdom. In May of 2016, Imvrassia greatly expanded its territorial gaines with the annexation of Eleftheria, located in the United States. On the 23rd of June, 2016 the Duchy of Argadia which was a Crown land gained independence, and the King of Imvrassia was proclaimed as Aggelos I, Duke of Argadia. On 20 August 2016 the Crown Princess Aikaterini, proclaimed as Queen of Imvrassia equal to the position of King Aggelos, thus transforming the regime of Imvrassia from monarchy to diarchy. On 6 October 2016 His Majesty reorganized the Commonwealth of Hellenic Micronations to a League of Hellenistic Micronations and remained head of the organization with the title of Hegemon. On the 5th of November 2016, King Aggelos I abdicate from the throne and so Queen Aikaterini could remain the sole monarch. On the 1st of December, 2016 Imvrassia annexed Orfalia as an Exarchate. On 10 December 2016 Imvrassia annexed as an Exarchate its old protectorate the Despotate of New Mystras, after an agreement with the Despotate's old ruler who became an active micronationalist again. On the 14th of January, 2017 the Council of Ministers adopted again the Diarchy with the proclamation of Caesar Stamatios as joint King equal to the position of Queen Aikaterini. On the 8th of April, 2018 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of a new Province, the Euxeinos State which is located in Greece. On the 9th of August, 2018 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of a new Province, the Duchy of Kalavria which is located in the United States. On the 19th of August, 2018 Queen Aikaterini abdicate from the throne and so King Stamatios could remain the sole monarch. On 20 November 2018 at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet, it was decided to replace the King Stamatios as he did not respond to his duties. The Crown was offered to Princess Aikaterini who accepted it and returned to the throne. On the 29th of November, 2018 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of a new region, the Province of Athinon which is located in Greece. On the 30th of November, 2018 the Government and the Crown have made a partial revision of the nobility titles, both to their friends and the members of the Royal House. To the heads of state was decided to award the title of Kouropalates and Zoste Patrikia. The members of the Royal House was decided to adopt and use the titles of Patrikios or Patrikia, Nobelissimos or Zoste Patrikia and Despotes or Despotissa. The Heir of the Throne will have the title of Caesar or Augusta. On the 7th of April, 2019 Euxeinos State was abolished after the resignation of its Eponymous Archon Mr. Georgios G. On the 7th of September, 2019, Queen Aikaterini because of her non - micronational obligations, appointed Despotes Aggelos as Regent and was temporarily left the political life. On 26 September 2019 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of a new region, the Province of Ionisia. On the 1st of November, 2019, the Queen returned briefly to her duties and decided to share the throne with her grandfather, Magistros Stamatios, whom she proclaimed King. It was followed a Regent's decision, according to which Queen Aikaterini and King Stamatios were named Titular Kings without a real power, retaining only the royal title. On the 30th of December, 2019 Imvrassia expanded with the annexations of Great Ionia, the Kingdom of New Byzantium and the Heptarchy of New Herakleia, which were brought into Imvrassia as Exarchates, dissolving the protectorate's status.
Empire Proclaimed[]
On the 1st of January, 2020 Imvrassia proclaimed to the status of an Empire after the decision of Despotes Aggelos to proclaim the Imvrassian Kings as Emperors, due to the Roman heritage of the State. On 04 May 2020, the Regency status since the September of the previous year expired. On 09 August 2020 the Praetorian Prefecture of Americania was abolished due the small activity and influence it exerted on the micronations of the American continent. On 24 October 2020 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of a new region, the Province of Argadia, a former Imvrassian Duchy, which had its own political course since 23 June 2016 and was an independent state since 08 May 2020. On 03 November 2020 Imvrassia refresh state symbols with the adoption of a new flag, new standard and new arms for the emperors and a new coat of arms for the State. On 21 December 2020 by Imperial Degree, Despotes Aggelos promoted to Symbasileus, ie junior co-emperor of Imvrassia as a result of the changes decided by the Crown. On 24 December 2020 with a new Imperial Degree, Emperor Stamatios in the context of the changes of the Imvrassian Monarchy, honorably revoked from the rank of Emperor and received the title of Symbasileus, ie junior co-emperor, maintaining his honorary imperial status but without executive powers and responsibilities. On 25 December 2020, the Empress within the framework of the co - reign, proclaimed the then junior co-emperor Aggelos as joint Emperor, to rule alongside to her. On 09 January 2021, an imperial degree was issued by Emperor Aggelos wanting to honor the Roman Emperor John III and thus naming the reigning house of Imvrassia as the House of Vatazides. On 18 March 2021 Empress Aikaterini, honorably revoked from the rank of Empress. Aikaterini received the title of Symbasilissa, ie junior co-empress, maintaining her honorary position but without executive powers and responsibilities and so Emperor Aggelos remained as the sole monarch. On 12 April 2021 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of a new Province with the title of the Danish March which was located in the Germany.
State Ideology[]
The Crown and the Government of Imvrassia have adopted as an official principle of policy that Imvrassia continues the Hellenistic and Roman tradition and by extension consider Imvrassia successor of the Hellenistic kingdoms and the Roman Empire. This view is based on facts such as that Imvrassia's declaration of independence held on 11 May, the same day as Constantinople was declared the new capital of the Roman Empire, that is a micronation whose sovereignty extends in regions of the Eastern Roman Empire, the official language is Hellenic (Greek), ie the language spoken by its inhabitants as well as those in the Eastern Roman Empire and finally by the monarchical regime.
Especially for the official title of the Monarch has chosen the title of Prince in the Roman sense of the first citizen Princeps Civitatis and on 09 November 2015 becomes Prince and Despot of Imvrassia emphasizing the Roman cultural tradition. After the upgrading of the state status to be a Kingdom, the Monarch's title change to the title of Basileus, a title from ancient Greek history for the Sovereign, although it had the meaning of the King and not the Emperor according to Roman terminology as established from 629 onwards. After the proclamation of the Εmpire, the Monarch's official title changed to the title of Basileus Autokrator of Imvrassia, a combination of the titles of Basileus and Autokrator, which mean the Emperor and the one who rules by himself, respectively. The new Monarch's title reserved for the sole or the senior emperor, if there are any other co-emperors (συμβασιλείς, symbasileis) and denoted the person who has substantive political power. Furthermore for a male monarch was added the formula of Perpetuus Augustus and for a female the formula of Most Pious Augusta. The imperial status of Imvrassia, is the result of a strong Roman heritage on the political life, the activity of the State mainly in the old Roman East and due to the official policy that considered Imvrassia as de jure successor of the Roman Empire. Also from 01 December 2015 Imvrassia has adopted the institution of co - reign, an institution originating from the Hellenistic and Roman times and the monarch is capable to appoint a member of the Imperial House as his deputy to assist him in the management of the state. This has resulted that the then Caesar Stamatios being co-Prince (01 December 2015 - 31 January 2016) and co-King (01 April 2016 - 14 January 2017), but he was served as deputy head of state rather than as co-ruler. From 20 August until 05 November 2016 and from 14 January 2017 until 19 August 2018 Imvrassia was a Diarchy, ie there exist two Monarchs equal to their position. From 01 November 2019 until 18 March 2021 Imvrassia became again a Diarchy, but the Monarchs had no real power for the benefit of an active regency from 01 November 2019 until 04 May 2020. However, with the appointment of Symbasileis, the institution took the form of collective leadership and come closer to the Roman way of the Consortium imperii denoting the sharing of imperial authority between a senior emperor and two or more co-emperors. Also on 23 October 2020 the Imvrassian Monarchy after a Treaty signed with Austenasia, Holy Roman Empire and Adammia, gained equal status within the states with Roman political tradition and the recognition of the full imperial rank of the Imvrassian monarch as Augustus. On 20 March 2021, an Imperial Decree of HM Emperor Aggelos I was issued. This Decree adopted as an official stance and policy of the Imvrassian Government the view that the Imvrassian Monarch was through translatio imperii the legitimate successor in dignity of the Eastern Roman Emperors, and the official title change to Faithful Imvrassian Emperor and Autocrat of the Romans.
Furtermore the influence of Greek and Roman history is reflected in the titles which are adopted by Imvrassia both for the members of the Imperial House and for the state officials and also for the name that has been adopted for the reigning house in honor of the Roman Emperor Jonh III and became the House of Vatazides.
Government & Constitutional Framework[]
The political history of Imvrassia until now is divided in three periods. The first period began with the establishment of the State in May of 2011 and ending in October 2013, when it was transformed from a unitary, into a federal state. The second period began on 5 October 2013 and lasted until 31 January 2016, when the Prince suspended the operation of the Constitution and the repeal of the federal structure of the state. The third and latest period began on 31 January 2016 and continues to this day.
Unitary State 2011-2013[]
The first Constitution of Imvrassia was published and came into force on 16th of May 2011 and a year later, on 31st of May 2012, took place the first revision of the constitution. At this time, the Head of Government was the Minister of State, and two governments were formed. The first government lasted from the 16th of May 2011 to the 31st of May 2012. This government was led by Marquise Kleio. The second government that was formed, was led by Princess Aikaterini, which lasted from the 31st of May 2012 to the 31st of August 2012 and from the 10th of December 2012 to the 15th of January 2013. At the period from the 31st of August 2012 until the 10th of December 2012, the office of the Minister of State had been temporarily removed. On the 15th of January 2013, the Prince issued a series of decrees, partly revised the Constitution and consolidated the executive authority within his office. The position of the Minister of State was vacated once again at this time.
Federal State 2013-2016[]
A new chapter began in the history of Imvrassia on the 5th of October 2013 when the Prince suggested a federal structure for the state. Imvrassia was then organized as a Federal Constitutional Monarchy. The purpose of this constitutional change was associate the monarchy with democracy, with a view to promote more interest of the citizens on the political life of the country.
Three governments since then have been formed. The first government to be formed was led by Princess Aikaterini, as Federal Prime Minister, from the 5th of October 2013 until the 20th of May 2014. The second government was led by the then Grand Duke Stamatios (promotion to Magistros on the 3rd of October 2015) as Federal Prime Minister from the 20th of May 2014 until the 21st of November 2015. The third government has formed on the 21st of November 2015 by Zoste Patrikia Panagiota and it still continues.
On the 1st of December 2015, after the proposal of Prince Aggelos, Imvrassia adopted the institution of co-reign. This institution has its origin in Hellenistic and Roman times, and came into force upon the proclamation of Caesar Stamatios at the office of Co-Prince of Imvrassia with the official address of His Highness the Co-Prince of Imvrassia, Stamatios. This new office was been created in order to assist in the tasks of the Prince and his mandate lasts as long as desired by the Prince. The Constitution of Imvrassia was suspended on the 31st of January 2016 by the Prince. At the same day the federal structure of the state was also canceled and the co-Prince was dismissed from his duties.
Unitary State 2016-[]
Imvrassia became a unitary state again on the 31st of January 2016, following a decision of the Prince to abolish the federal structure of the state. At this same time, he has suspended the operation of the Constitution and began to rule as an absolute monarch. On the 3rd of February 2016 the Prince granted a new Constitution and so Imvrassia returned into constitutional governance again as a constitutional monarchy and in addition the institution of co-reign was maintained in the new governing documents. On the 21st of March 2016, Imvrassia proclaimed to the status of a Kingdom after the decision of Prince Aggelos to assumed the title of King. On the 1st of April 2016, King Aggelos appointed Caesar Stamatios as Co-King of Imvrassia with the official address of His Royal Highness the Co-King of Imvrassia, Stamatios I. On the 20th of August 2016 the Crown Princess Aikaterini, was proclaimed as Queen of Imvrassia, with the official address of Her Majesty, the Queen of Imvrassia, Aikaterini I equal to the position of King Aggelos, thus transforming the regime of Imvrassia from monarchy to diarchy. On the 5th of November 2016 King Aggelos abdicated from the throne and so that Queen Aikaterini would remain sole monarch. On the 25th of February 2019, Magistros Stamatios was appointed as Mesazon, i.e. "Head of the Government". On the 7th of September 2019, Queen Aikaterini, because of her non-micronational obligations, appointed Despotes Aggelos as Regent, and has temporarily left the political life. On the 1st of November 2019, the Queen returned briefly to her duties and decided to share the throne with her Grandfather, Magistros Stamatios, whom she proclaimed King. It was followed by the Regent's decision, according to which, Queen Aikaterini and King Stamatios were named Titular Kings without a real power, retaining only the royal title. On the 26th of November 2019, Marquise Aikaterini was appointed as Mesazon and has formed a new Government. On the 1st of January 2020, Imvrassia proclaimed to the status of an Empire after the decision of Despotes Aggelos to proclaim the Imvrassian Kings as Emperors, due to the Roman heritage of the State.
The current Constitution has been in effect since the 21st of March 2016 and was again revised on the 1st of January 2020. The Crown appoints the Head of Government, who is the Mesazon. The Legislative power is exercised by the Crown and the Privy Council.
Governmental Positions & Titles[]
Mesazon
The Mesazon supervise, coordinate and conduct all of the executive as Head of the Government and generally managing the day-to-day running of the State. The Mesazon's assistants and deputies have the office of Megas Chartoularios.
Ministry of State
It is responsible for publishing the decisions of the Government and to exercise supervision and administration over the Imperial Guard and the Imperial Police.
Ministry of Internal Affairs & Technology
It is responsible for the internal functioning of the State, the supervision of the provinces and everything that has to do with the internet and technological matters.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
It is responsible for diplomatic relations of the State with other sovereign states and organizations.
Ministry of Finance
It is responsible for the proper and useful economic course of the State to promote social development.
Ministry of Culture
It is responsible for the design, advocacy, dissemination and protection of the principles and values of Hellenic Culture within the State.
Official Language[]
The official language is the Hellenic (Greek) language. For diplomatic use, however, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs uses the English language.
Nobility & Citizenship[]
The Empire of Imvrassia accept new citizens and awards them the title of Sebastos and Sebaste of Imvrassia, if they wish. If they do not want a title of nobility, they merely request citizenship and participate in the public life of the State.
The Crown has the right to offer titles of nobility to citizens of the State, as well as citizens of other states who support Imvrassia and its purposes. The titles of nobility conferred on residents of the State, permanent or not, are as follows:
Magistros or Pansebaste of Imvrassia.
Protosebastos and Protosebaste of Imvrassia.
Count or Countess of Imvrassia.
Sebastos and Sebaste of Imvrassia.
Friendly Heads of State and their officials, the Crown awards them the following titles:
Kouropalates and Zoste Patrikia of Imvrassia (Heads of State)
Count or Countess of Imvrassia (for officials and members of royal houses)
Sebastos and Sebaste of Imvrassia (honorary citizens and ambassadors).
On the occasion of the completion of 5 years of the founding of Imvrassia, the Crown decided to award to friends and allies of Imvrassia honorary military titles.

Foreign Affairs[]
Responsible for the foreign relations of the Empire of Imvrassia, is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As a basic principle for the establishment of diplomatic relations, the government of Imvrassia has adopted the respect of the cultural and political differences between the micronations. Also, the Government of Imvrassia recognizes the independence and sovereignty of each state, which signs a treaty of friendship and mutual recognition.
