Kenneth Maisano
From MicroWiki
Kenneth Maisano is a senior Erusian Communist legislator and politician currently serving as the Supreme People's Commissioner of the Democratic People's Republic of Erusia as of July 6th 2009, making him the Head of State and nominal leader of that micronation. He is a Standing Member of the 4th Central Committee of the Erusian National Communist Party, having served on the 3rd Committee also, and a member of both the Party's Politburo and it's Central Military Commission. Since May 12th he has served as Director of the Communist Party Propaganda Work Department (formerly known as the Propaganda Chief) and he has been National People's Executive Commissioner for Revolutionary Security since January 13th 2009, making him one of only a few officials to hold a single office for more than six months. He is renowned for being one of the - if not the - most conservative, hard-line members of the ruling Communist Party. He also serves as Party Secretary for the Sanctia region of the DPRE. He has been a public opponent to liberalisation of the Party.
All though Maisano is officially the overall leader of the Democratic People's Republic, he is in practice a popular figurehead with little actual power in his capacity as Supreme People's Commissioner. Most executive power is instead wielded behind the scenes by the General Secretary of the Communist Party, Robert Lethler, with Maisano ratifying his decisions and giving them formal approval. Nonetheless, as the official responsible for the Republican Guard (sometimes seen as the "Secret Police" of the DPRE) and as a member of two of the ENCP's top three leadership bodies, Maisano has considerable power and influence as a senior Party leader. He is a popular figure among conservative members of the ENCP and one of Lethler's strongest political allies. It is also known that he has a strong working relationship with Kai Roosevelt, the current Premier of Erusia, and he is expected to remain in her government when she eventually succeeds Lethler as Paramount Leader.
