Ohio Empire

The Ohio Empire is a monarchy based on moral codes. They believe in fair play and equal treatment of enemies. It was formed when the Ohio River Republic collapsed and was reorganized. The former King of the Ohio River Republic, King Joseph I, was renamed Emperor Malum I.

History
The Ohio River Republic was suffering from neglect and on August 28, 2008. King Joseph I reorganized the government into a moral based monarchy.
Recent Events
November 22, 2009- The Social Republic of New Europe has invaded the Empire. This has offically brought the Empire into the New European Civil War.
Government
The Empire is called a Moralistic Absolute Monarchy. This means that the Emperor can make any law he wants as long as it falls under the moral constitution called The Universal Rights of Man (see below).
Universal Rights of Man
These moral codes were created to limit the power of the monarchy and to protect the citizens of the Ohio Empire from future emperors. These codes are above the emperor and set the basis for equal balance power between the Emperor and the Citizens.
1. These rights are eternal and cannot be taken by any citizen of the state including the Emperor.
2. If any right is wished to be added by a majority of the citizens it will be turned into a new moral code.
3.The citizens have the right of indiviuality. This includes free religion, speech, assembly, and press.
4. No citizen may be held without a charge for more than 24 hours.
5. No Emperor may ever establish a death penalty.
6. No citizen shall be denied rights on the account of age, sex, religion, or race.
7. The citizens have the obligation to remove an emperor from power if he tries to deny any one of the rights included above.
8. A person convicted of a crime cannot be sent twice for the same crime. Also, all convicted must stand trial by a jury. The jury shall include the Emperor as well as a citizen chosen by a lottery.
Citizenship
Any person living in the empire is a citizen, but to become an active citizen which gains the rights and benefits of the Empire you first have to apply for active citizenship which can be asked to the Emperor, then you must activated by the Emperor. Then and only then will you be able to get a job and get paid in the Ohio Empire. Any nonactive can become active.
Foreign Policies
These are policies given by the Emperor to say how he will react to other nations policies.
Malum Doctrine
On December 14, 2008, the Emperor made it clear in a new foreign policy that he would never recognize a nation that denied equality on the basis of indiviuality. This includes racist nations as well as religous extremists. He also said that he would declare war on any micronation that denied their citizens the rights to indiviuality.
2nd Malum Doctrine
On the 7th of May, 2009, Emperor Malum I formally declared the 2nd Malum Doctrine. It declared the Ohio Empire a nonwarfare and isolationist, unless attacked. Malum also declared that they can help with war any way they can short of fighting.
Economy
The currency of the Ohio Empire is the Imperial Pound. The Currency sign is the Micro Sign (µ).
1 Imperial Pound = 8 Imperial Pences = 2 US Dollars
1 Imperial Pence = 1 US Quarter
Taxes
On November 25, 2008, the Emperor declared the Imperial Video Game Tax. This tax created a fee for use of the royal Wii, X-Box, Nintendo 64, and the Royal Gamecube. This was to limit it's use by the citizens of the Ohio Empire.

Media
The Imperial Times is the only authorized newspaper in the Ohio Empire. It currently cost 1 Pound.
Military
The Army of the Republic was reorganized as well into the Imperial Army.
The organization was very similar to the Army of the Republic.
The Emperor is in charge of all Department The War Department is in charge of all Sergeants Sergeants are in charge of indiviual squads. Each squad is composed of 2 soldiers.

The Imperial Guard are the Emperors bodyguards. They are the most skilled soldiers in the army.
Culture
The culture of the Ohio Empire is still developing. The people are good natured and well intentioned.
Sports
At the moment due to lack of sport playing active citizens. The Empire has joined Virtual Manager, an online soccer game, and created their national team the Ohio Empire Hawks with the Emperor as the teams coach.
Flag
The Flag is the National Symbol of the Ohio Empire. The Black represents the unknown future that the USA was facing and the red shining from the bottom right represents the courage to face the unknown that the USA lost.

January 8 is Emperor Norton Day
August 28 is the Ohio Empires Independence Day.
November 5 is Constitution Day.
