Porto Claro is the first micronation ever founded in Latin America, created in September 25, 1992 by Pedro Aguiar. It is one of the leading nations of the Lusophone Sector. Also, it has become a very relevant micronation in its sector during the nineties, coming online in 1996. Founded as a Kingdom, Porto Claro became a republic in 1998, after a revolution which ended with the expulsion of Aguiar from the nation.

The nation became inactive for a while, only to return on June 25th, after a revoluton which overthrew the old portoclarian elites.

The nation now has a newly and professionally made website, sponsored by its old ally, the Holy Empire of Réunion.

Porto Claro is now a protectorate of the Holy Empire of Réunion, however mantaining its full independence and sovereignity, much like the situation between the United Kingdom and Canada.

Porto Claro is currently a member of the League of Secessionist States.
