The Republic of Secundomia (colloquially Secundomia, pronounced [səkʊndoʊmiːə]) is a 6th world nation [1] founded by Parker I and Spencer I. It was formed on December 16th 2009. Since then Secundomia has grown to be respected in the micronational community, and they are ranked #10 on the OAM Micronational Influence survey.[2][3]
Secundomia currently has 11 registered citizens, 10 of which are above voting age. The nation is currently lead by President Parker I.

Etymology

The name Secundomia is a mash up of two Latin words, Secundus and Domus. These two words mean, roughly, "behind the house." These words symbolize Secundomia's orgins as a backyard nation. The name Secundomia was created by Parker I, when he founded the Kingdom of Secundomia. Later, after the Kingdom merged with the Republic of Skillz, the citizens of the, as it was called then, Micronation Republic, voted on several names, including ******, Paedetopia and Coverla, and others until it was decided that Secundomia was best. A citizen of Secundomia is called a Secundomian.

The idea for Secundomia began when Parker I and Spencer I were reading about micronations, on December 13th, 2009, like the Conch Republic, Molossia, and the Aerican Empire, and were inspired. At first they planned on joining Aerica, but Spencer suggested that they create their own. And so they would.
Added by Bruno CavaSpencer was the first to found a nation, the Republic of Skillz on December 14th, 2009. Spencer I was quickly made president, and it became at it's peak, 6 citizens large. However Parker I was not told of it's existence until the next day, shortly preceding the founding of the Kingdom of Secundomia, which was founded on December 15th 2009, by Parker I.
The Republic of Skillz collapsed on December 15th, 2009, and it's two remaining citizens merged with the Kingdom of Secundomia, to form the Republic of Secundomia, on December 16th 2009. Secundomia quickly gathered a population of 6. But the state of Halstopia left the nation on the December 18th, 2009 with all it's members. American lead was restored shortly after in Halstopia.
After the fall of Halstopia, rivals Parker I and Luke of Secundomia struggled for power, and Secundomia was caught in the middle.
Added by SecundomiaAfter huge fights during the first elections of Secundomia, Luke and Parker I decided to split presidency, and became co-presidents. In the January 2010 Secundomian elections, the fight between Parker I and Luke grew stronger, as Skillz founder Spencer I and Parker ran on a joint ticket for co-presidency. Luke fought a tough battle, saying that Spencer and Parker were attempting to run a dictatorship. However, Parker I and Spencer I won. Luke alleged that this was simply because Secundomia was full of Spencer's freinds. However, the new presidents denied this.

Cabinet CrisisEdit

When Parker I appointed his presidential cabinet, causing a protest among citizens about his choices. At first the president did not change his decisions. But more of Secundomia protested. Parker I was pressured into changing the decisions.
After Parker I changed his decisions, some citizens were still not content. One of them was Ibrahim I. Ibrahim's protests got violent, and allegedly violated Secundomian Law. Parker I prosecuted Ibrahim, and put him on trial, the first trial in Secundomian history.
After the trial of Ibrahim I, an inactive citizen returned to inactivity and defended the President. The Protest Group began harrasing this citizen. Many of Protest sympathizers began to grow distrustful of the Protest Group. These sympathizers now aligned themselves with the president. They included Spencer I and Luke of Secundomia. The Protest Group began targeting them as well.
As the harrasment began to grow worse, many of Secundomia's citizens, including the President and Citizen's Council, decided to exile Protest leader Rahim I temporarily. Ibrahim I was given a warning. Soon Ibrahim and Rahim both apoligized.
Refound Peace in SecundomiaEdit
After the Cabinet Crisis, peace overcame Secundomia. The May 2010 Election primaries took place in early May. However the actual elections were postponed until June 1. Spencer became interim president between the 1st and the 8th of June. After the elections were postponed again after a tie, Ibrahim I said that Rahim I should be able to choose the president because he was expelled from Secundomia before the Elections. This proposal was rejected for obvious reasons. Parker I finally won the elections on June 16th.

In September 2010, Secundomia became virtually dormant. They were honored in a Slinky Air Show, and began developing a language, but most of Secundomia was dormant. Then Secundomia conducted elections. In the Conservative Primaries four leaders ran against each other. These four were Skillz founder Spencer I, infamous Protest Group Leader Ibrahim I, Kingdom founder Parker I, and then-president Luke. The primaries ended in a victory for Luke. Ibrahim I conceded defeat. However, Spencer decided to form his own party, Spencer's Super Awesome Party of Super Awesomeness, and Parker I decided to run as an Independent. Parker I experienced a surge of votes from liberal voters, unhappy with the distant Conservative Party candidate, and won the election. During the September Elections, Lower Secundomia was merged with Middle Secundomia due to it's failure to conduct gubernatorial elections. Bu Ocajin was also collapsed and re-organized into Merreneitoja. Southern Cipania became a territory.
Added by SecundomiaOn November 1, the Opening Ceremonies of the olympics were held, and Parker I officially announced the beginning of the 2010 Micronational Olympics.

CongressEdit
The Secundomian Congress is Tricameral. There is the Citizen's Council, The House of the Governors, and the Cabinet. After a law (which can be proposed by any Secundomian citizen) passes through these three houses, the President holds delaying veto.

Law and OrderEdit
Law and Order in Secundomia is headed by the Judicial Branch. However, they mainly rely on the United States for police and judicial service.
Trial of Ibrahim IEdit
There was one point in which an emergency trial was called to order, during the Cabinet Crisis, Ibrahim I was tried for his statements on the Secundomian Message board. This trial was presided over by President Parker I. However the trial ended in victory to Defense Attorney, Nate I.
Foreign RelationsEdit
Secundomia has established some sort of diplomatic relations with 20 different micronations. They are a part of the Organisation of Active Micronations[5], and the League of Secessionist States[6]. Secundomia will not recognize any Micras nation as a true nation, however, they offer limited recognition to these nations.

Secundomia's military is self-described as weak. It has not yet been enacted, but is ready when called upon. The military is run by the Department of Defense, which has been headed by Grand General Spencer I since August 2010.[7]

Air ForceEdit
The Air Force has not been activated, but a project for a defense rocket is underway[8][9]. The rocket is likely to be spring powered. The Air Force is headed by General Ibrahim I

The Secundomian Intelligence Agency was founded by Parker I to collect information on nations abroad. Their only project so far is the Finland Project, which is held under High Secrecy.

Secundomia has little to no actual economy, and the National wealth is not considered. Citizens do buy and trade freely with the United States, and there are no tarrifs on imports in Secundomia.
CultureEdit
Although arts are respected by the government, Secundomia has too few citizens to formulate a real culture. Acting is often practiced in Secundomia, along with Debate.
SportEdit
Secundomia has a deep sport culture, without any National Sport. American Football is widely practiced, along with soccer, and basketball. Secundomia is hosting the 2010 Micronational Olympics this year, and they are slated to have plenty of competitors.

Media in Secundomia is dominated by the privately owned business, Secundomian Media. SM owns the Secundomian News blog, Secundomia TV, and the Intermicronational Tribune. Media is often imported from the United States into Secundomia.

There is no official state religion in Secundomia, as instructed by the Constitution. The primary religion is Christian, followed by a minority of no-religion.

Secundomia is a 6th world nation under the Boodlesmythe-Tallini System. They are Bricks-and-Mortar, with a relatively tiny population, and focus on "form[ing] a functional government and acquir[ing] sovereign territory."

Under the Dresner System, the Republic of Secundomia is rated a 2.9.
Micronational Influence PollEdit
The OAM Micronational Influence Poll was a poll conducted by Tom Turner of Rukora. Secundomia was #9 in the midway poll and #10 in the final table.
