Location & Territory
Sandus is bordered on all sides by the State of Maryland in the United State of America. The Peoples' State of Sandus claims and owns 180 square feet. The Peoples’ State of Sandus is split into 4 districts, known as Provinces. The 4 Provinces of Sandus are as follows:
- Kremlum Sandus, “Kremlus” (Latin: Kremlin of Sandus)
- Le Sanctuaire du Bouddha (French: Shrine of the Buddha)
- La Place de l’Étudier (French: The Place of Studying)
- La Porte Étrangère (French: The Foreign Door)
- Le Mur des Drapeaux (French: The Wall of Flags; unincorporated)
Kremlum Sandus
The Kremlum Sandus (La.: Kremlin of Sandus) is the capital and second largest territory of Sandus. The name of this Province comes from the famous Kremlins of Russia. The name has been adopted by the Sandum people to come to mean safe, secure places; and so this is why the Sandum people have adopted the title of this province as Kremlum Sandus, or Kremlin of Sandus.
In the Kremlum Sandus 4 smaller Départements - Le Sanctuaire, La Place, La Porte, et Le Mur – are located in the Kremlum Sandus Province. Le Sanctuaire du Bouddha houses an altar to the Guatama Buddha, the Country’s treasury and a small statue of Vardaan gifted by a Hindu woman to Sandus. La Place de l’Étudier houses the national library, housing more than 107 publications (including books and DVDs), the national clothing region, and the nation’s only marine vehicle, an aircraft carrier, Les Défenseurs. La Porte Étrangère houses the nation’s only customs post, though another is in the works. Le Mur des Drapeux, owned and operated by the Museum of Sandus, houses the nation’s most prominent cultural achievement, the Wall of Flags (as to which the Département gains its name from).
Kremlum Sandus holds all the former territories of Sandefreistikhan and Sandus (de facto).
Government
The country is a Buddhist-Communist Theocratic state. The official state religion is Tibetan Buddhism, with the Palyul lineage of the Nyingma tradition. Religion is a major part of all Sandumi, and is incorporated into politics.
National Congress
The Politburo, or Political Bureau, was created on June 21st, 2009 as Bureau des Politiques, by the effect of the ratification of the Constitution of Sandus. It was the unicamerial house of the Legislature branch, and was controlled by the Civilum Communistum Partium et Sandus. Guillaume was the only Unum of the Politburo, as he was the same with the CPGLS. During the beginning of Sandus, the Political Bureau, the Politburo, was comprised of members of the Citizens' Communist Party of Sandus and controlled the 8 different sub-sections of the Political Bureau- the Eight different Assemblies. In America, the Political Bureau would have been the Legislature Branch.
The National Congress was adopted on Sunday 30 August 2009, by the Politburo. Under the order of the former Premier, all laws were kept and only the National Congress, and some minor changes, was created. Though this is a major change, it is a rather small reform. All laws, everything except the Congress, the Sangha & Judicial Branches, were kept. The National Congress is a unicameral house consisting of citizens eligible to join which are led by the Speaker of the House. The Speaker of the House's job is to quiet down people should an argument or fight ensue.
The Eight Assemblies of the are as follows, including notes and some divisions of those Assemblies:
- Assembly of Foreign Affairs - the Assembly which controls Sandus' relations to other nations, organizations, and signs treaties
- Division to the Grand Unified Micronational - the Division's existence is to confer with the Grand Unified Micronational and its members
- Assembly of Defense - the Assembly commanding the Defense Forces of Sandus and other policing, intelligence, secret police divisions
- Assembly of Media - Controls the channel and newspaper of Sandus, Channum Unum and Veritum Sandus, formerly the Bureau of Reports
- Channum Unum - National Channel of Sandus, offers live streaming on LiveStream[2]
- Veritum Sandus - National Weekly (soon bi-weekly) Newspaper of Sandus, website pending
- Assembly of Culture - Formerly known as the Bureau of Culture until 05 August 2009
- Assembly of the Future - Formerly known as the Bureau of the Future until 05 August 2009

The Congress officially formed it on 20:23 ST on 02 November 2009. The embassy is home to a temple and an altar on the second floor of the embassy to Athena Polios (Greek for "Athena of the City") and the residence of the Premier of the Assembly of Foreign Affairs in Second Life. The embassy is a platform floating at 1124 meters high in Second Life, hence the absence of surrounding land. Most items making up the embassy were donated be individuals, however the flag of Sandus was made by Guillaume Sœrgèl.

== Assembly of Defense ==The Assembly of Defense is split into 3 Divisions: the Air Defense Force, the Marine Defense Force, and the Land Defense Force. Of the three, the Air Defense Force is the most prominent. The Assembly of Defense, part of the Politburo, is the policing and military force of Sandus.
Air Defense Force
The Air Defense Force uses the following aircraft on Microsoft Flight Simulator X:
- Attack/Naval/Trainer: Sukhoi Su-25
- Bomber: Tupolev Tu-95
- Fighter/Interceptor: Sukhoi Su-27
- Transport Helicopter: Mil Mi-17
- Assault Helicopter: Mil Mi-24
- Reconnaissance: Lockheed S-3
- Transport: Antonov An-12
These Aircraft are on Microsoft Flight Simulator X because of the lack of room, money, and time for the upkeep and purchasing of the actual aircraft. Regardless, they are still the pride of the nation and all people are given basic training on flying aircraft and avionics. Most Conscripts are sent to the Air Defense Force, as well.
Marine Defense Force
Legally, the Marine Defense Forces controls all liquids and fluids, which are external the body. This means any beverage which is imported is inspected by the Marine Defense Force. The Marine Defense Force, too, has one ship as of current. That ship, Les Defenseurs, is an Defenseur/Redbox-Class Aircraft Carrier. Lama Guillaume Unum stated on 05 August 2009, that, with the expantion of the government and the readoption of the former Defense Forces of Sandus, the Marine Defense Force will receive an overhaul and gain more ships, including a frigate and a missile destroyer. He also, following suite with the Air Defense Force, is planning on launching ships with the Ship Simulator (created by VSTEP, a Dutch company) or Virtual Sailor (created by Ilan Papini).
Land Defense Force
The Land Defense Force would be different from the other Defense Forces, as it will be not have any Compact Disk Simulations (though it will use Soldier Front, by ijji). The Land Defense Force, as of 05 August 2009, does not have any vehicles. The Land Defense Force is also the policing force in Sandus, and use the Kentucky Long Rifle for training and the Kalashnikov AK-74 for usage. The Land Defense Force, too, plans on adopting the IMI Galil.
Marches of the Legions
The Legions use Le Chant du Départ, but they also use the Poème du Pays. There are 2 others, Le Chant des Partisans and Den Pobediy (Rus.: Victory Day), which are currently not defined into other Legions. Those two will be decided later, with the addition of a third.
Den Pobediy can be found here on YouTube: Den Pobediy; and Le Chant des Partisans can be found here on YouTube: Le Chant des Partisans .
Conflicts
Since 05 August 2009, Sandus, and former Sandefreistikhan, has been in three conflicts: the Neda War, Micronational War on Communism (this name is only used in Sandus), and the New Euro-Erusian War.
Training
On 15 to 20 October, the Assembly of Defense and the active Defense Forces of Sandus shall participate in training including various scenarios. These exercizes shall be aimed towards improving the battle readiness of Sandus. The following scenarios shall be trained:

- Civil War.
- Break-away Regions.
- Hostile groups within Sandus.
- Chemical or Explosive threats to Sandus.
Plans
Sandus is planning on becoming a territorial country after May 2013. SM Guillaume Unum will be leaving High School by then and will be free to work on building up Sandus even more. These plans are in their first version.
Airport
The Airport, planned to be called Sandus Haysfeild International Airport, will take up at least half of the country. It will be a major revenue contributor to the government, as the national airline will offer flights cheaper than that at the local airports: B.W.I., Reagan National, and Dulles.
At first, the airport will have only 1 grass runway and fly an Embraer Regional Jet 135. After getting enough money, 2 asphalt runways will be made. The Original Grass runway will become the main runway, used for Departures. Special textures created in the asphalt will enable the aircraft to go faster and enable larger aircraft to take off. About 10 feet away will be another runway, designed for arrivals. Just like the departure runway, the arrival runway will have special textures that will help the aircraft stop - and even though this runway is shorter, it will have enable larger aircraft to land as well. Both runways will be in the same direction heading as 31°/13°, same as the current runway on the site.
Taxiways will link the runway to 4 parking spots on the site, which will be linked to the terminal by walking paths and, in some cases, people movers.
The Airport Terminal will have 4 meeting halls, were people will gather to board their specific aircraft. The airport will then be split into 2 areas, the insecure and secure. Of course, the secure will be larger, but will be more open to Sandefreistikhan citizens - as it will be their commerce area. The insecure areas will house the ticketing and check-in areas.
Buildings
Buildings, mainly, will house living areas and restaurants. Some, on the top floors, will house offices for companies and for the government. There will be a total of 4 of such buildings.
Parking Lots
Sandus citizens, and people who work in Sandus, will have free parking in the parking lots. American citizens, mostly those traveling, will pay .5 S£P per day for parking.
Agriculture
Agriculture, as first, will be concerned with mostly fields. Although, as time goes on and the government makes more money, special, two-to-three level green houses will be created in some areas.
Roads
Roads, near the main road, will be made of asphalt. Farther from the main road, will be dirt roads.
Government and Life in the planned Sandefreistikhan
The Government will be located at the top of the tallest building in Sandus, located across the street and main parking lot from the Airport. The chamber of the Politburo will be at the top, with a circular skylight at the top. Behind where the Premier will sit is the Coat of Arms and draped flag of Sandus. The room will house seats and desks for all citizens of Sandus. Entry into Sandus will be from 2 main points on the road running along the eastern border of the country. Sandus Citizens will have to show their Citizenship cards, which will be retired every year. American citizens working in Sandus will have to show their Work ID cards, American citizens continuing down the road will have to show their driver's license while American citizens flying out from the airport or just visiting will have to show their passport.
Sandus citizenship is available to people who pass the citizenship test with a margin of 85% or higher. Sandus commerce will continue to use the Sande Or Pound. Any questions, comments, or suggestions, email az_newjersey@yahoo.com.
Culture
Sandum Culture is very unique to Sandus. Many things of this culture is incorporated from other cultures, and some are even ancient culturally. Sandum Culture incorporates itself through out Sandus, and some Americans have been effected by Sandum Culture.
Clothing
Clothing in Sandus is closely related to the robes of the ancient Greeks, the ancient Romans, and the Tibetan Buddhist monks. Traditionally, there are two unique clothing styles.
The first, the Fiera style, consists of one large (enough) sheet of fabric. This is a more formal and sophisticated robe, though it is very easy to make. To make this robe, one needs a sheet held in both hands, held the long way on your back. The corner in the right hand should go on your left shoulder, underneath the sheet, and the corner in the left hand should go on your right should, above the sheet. This is the same style as that of Guillaume Sœrgèl, when he was Lama of Sandefreistikhan, which was used during various photos, speeches, and events. It is now used by delegates of the National Congress.
The second, the Travailla style, consists of one large sheet, just like the Fiera style. This is a more business and everyday robe style, but it is the easiest to make. To make this robe, take both ends in each hand -- held the long way on your back. The corner in the right hand is then drape it over your right shoulder. The corner in the left hand is then thrown over the right shoulder -- but make sure it stays.
In all Sandum Robe styles, a small slit in the robe should be found in order for the work of the dominent hand. Styles may be reveresed in technique in order to make this slit on your dominent side. Your less dominent hand should hold the bottom of that slit closed, or it can be extended through the slit for usage of both hands. Sheets should be long enough to go from both hands, extended in a cross.
Cuisine
Sandum Cuisine is generally related to French cuisine, as it incorporates many French dishes. These include Crêpes, Crème Brûlée, Ratatouille, Beef Bourguignon, Coq au vin, and French bread. Of course, this is not to say that Sandum Cuisine is not effected by local cuisines. Many other cuisines find there way into Sandum Cuisine. Very much so, there is no definite cuisine to Sandus - very much like American cuisine.
Politics
Sandum Politics, and Government, are very much devoted to the ideal of "the People & the Land". Many Sandum People believe the best way to achieve unity and greatness of the country is by the ideology of Communism. Communism has had a very large part in the Sandum people since the creation of the, now defunct, Republic of Trénois. Sandefreistikhan, a secessor state of Trénois, too, quickly built up a Communist Party following their independence. This would follow on when Sandefreistikhan was renamed Sandus, and the Communist Party of the Grand Lamate of Sandefreistikhan became the Citizens' Communist Party of Sandus. Marxist-Leninist Communism, the same Communist path as used in the Soviet Union, is the largest path of Communism in Sandus, and Sandus is very much proud of this. Two large propaganda posters remind citizens of the great strides and victories brought forth by this path and are located around Sandus. The first, and largest, celebrates the Soviet Red Army's victory over the Third Reich at the Battle of Kursk and this poster is called, by the populus, Курская Дуга, or Kursk Battle. The second, which is in storage until the Museum of Sandus has the resources to display it, depicts Vladimir «Lenin» Ulyanov leading troops into battle during the October Revolution - and, because of this, this poster is called October by the populus, because the title of this poster is called «Preparing for October».
Society
Sandum Society is very much centered around the people, then again, due to the Communist government. Every person in Sandum society is regarded as equal, and very little racism or sexism is prominent in Sandus. However, some ageism has spurred in Sandus, largely to people whom are over 30 or use adult websites, due to the discrimination of younger people. This ageism is largely ignored to those who are deemed respectful by the masses of the people. However, though, profiling and discrimination is banned in government.
Music
Music in Sandus varies by the mood of the person, the day and the time of day. Music is classified into 4 major categories which are listened to in Sandus. These include:
- Ancient or Neo Hellenic Greek Hymns such as ΛΟΓΟΣ, ΕΡΓΟ, ΝΟΗΜΑ (ΜΗΤΕΡΑ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΨΥΧΗ).
- Heurea (SL: Happy or Upbeat) Music such as Un Autre Monde by Téléphone.
- Buddhist Prayers or Hymns such as The Sevenline Prayer to Guru Rinpoche by Ani Choying Drolma.
- Classical music such as Bach or Mozart.
Religion
There are 2 main religions in Sandus, Tibetan Buddhism and Irôqàkîné mythology.
Tibetan Buddhism
Tibetan Buddhism was founded when Padmasambhava brought Buddhism to Tibet under consent from the Kings of Tibet, who were facing Demons in their lands. The People of Tibet changed, rather quickly, from their Bön religion to Tibetan Buddhism. Tibetan Buddhism in Sandefreistikhan is a major part, and is the largest religion. Every people entering Sandus passes the Buddhist Shrine upon doing so. Sandus is part of the Nyingma Tradition, and the Palyul Lineage of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. Sandus's teacher and lama is Jetsunma Akhön Lhamo, while the title Lama, used by Guillaume le Premier, is to show he is enlightened in the politics of his government.
Buddhism was founded around 200 BCE, in Northern India, by Siddhartha Guatama. Siddhartha Guatama was born a prince. The highest revered wise man of the Kingdom came to see the birth of Siddhartha from his mother, Maya. He said that he will a great wise man, and was sas he would not live to learn from him. The King, Siddhartha's father, wanted Siddhartha to be his heir. The King than kept Siddhartha inside His Palace and treated him to luxury. Siddhartha had never known what suffering was, and never saw the outside world. One day, Siddhartha heard a musician from a far away land, most likely Arabia, and wondered where she was from. His wife told him there were other lands than the palace, and told him about Suffering. He then travelled, with Ananda, outside the Palace. His father ordered his guards to sweep the city clean of any suffering, though Siddhartha did find suffering. Siddhartha found a sick man, a dying man, an old man, and a corpse. These events changed Siddhartha, and he left the Kingdom to find the end of suffering.
Siddhartha first trained with asthetics, and starved himself by eating one grain of rice a day. The asthetics believed that if a person could overcome suffering, they will be enlightened. Siddhartha, one day while meditating, heard from a passing singer on a boat the saying, "if you tune it too much, it will break; if you tune it too loose, it will not play." Siddhartha then left the asthetics and travelled on by himself. He came to the Deer Park, where he sat down under the Bodhi Tree and meditated for around 40 days. Mara, a demon which attacked Siddhartha, sent his daughters, who failed, sent armies, which failed, and finally a last image. A puddle appeared infront of Siddhartha, and he saw his reflection. Siddhartha went to touch the puddle, and out came a hand of Siddhartha and grabbed his hand. Up, from the puddle, came Mara, looking like Siddhartha. Mara tried to convince him not to search for enlightenment, but Siddhartha would not stop. Siddhartha made a divine mudra, where he touched the earth, and stated to Mara that he knew he was Mara, and "the earth is my witness." After that, Mara disappeared, and Siddhartha became enlightened. Siddhartha went to teach of his teaching, the Dharma, which outlines how to end Suffering, both short term and long term.

Channum Unum currently plays the national anthem, commercials for Air France and Aeroflot- and various patriotic songs of Sandus. You can always watch Channum Unum on LiveStream.
Newspaper
Officially, as of 20 July 2009, the state newspaper is Veritum Sandus. It's first issue was issued on 20 June 2009, will issue a new edition every week, and is written in Sandum Latin. On 05 August 2009, Lama Guillaume Unum, the newspaper's only reporter and editor, declared that the Veritum Sandus would produce an online copy, for the digital age, and that it will be available on forums, such as those of the GUM.
VivumSandus
VivumSandus is the radio station of Sandus. It is, however, not located online, rather via a stereo located in Guillaume Sœrgèl's room. It is the only radio station in Sandus, and the government does plan on setting up a station online. It currently only plays music, and the current playlist is Guillaume Sœrgèl's top 20 most played songs from iTunes. It was established on 25 August 2009 by order from Premier Guillaume Sœrgèl.
Language
Today, everyone speaks Sandum Latin in Congress. There are 2 official languages in Sandus, those are French and Sandum Latin. Sandum Latin, or Sandum Latina as it is called, is the cultural language of Sandus. Every citizen knows how to speak and write it, though very few speak it in reality. During the beginning of every Congress, it is tradition that the Speaker of the House asks the Congress to continue and converse in English -- the native language of every citizen. French was kept from the days of Sandefreistikhan, though few speak it to a large extent.
Sandum Latina
Sandum Latin is an [the most] official language of Sandus. It is spoken by all citizens, and all inscriptions and items in Sandus are written in Sandum Latina first. Sandum Latina has its basic structure from Classical Latin, though some words come from French, Classical and Vulgar Latin. Sandum Latin is written with the subject first, the noun the subject is acting on second, and then the verb. Some phrases are added on the end of these basic sentences, such as, for example, «Ego Unum est, il est», which means «I am the first, such as he». This simple phrase, too, can mean alot. This phrase can also be interpreted as the word because, for example, «Ego Parlum Payum Etatum et Sandum est, populum est», which means «I am the Speaker of the National Congress of Sandus, because of the people». Sandum Latin is very unique in the way, as many phrases can mean the same way. There is only one accent in Sandum Latina, and that is the cedilla. For example: Chança means luck or chance. The cedilla is used, like in French, to make a hard C a soft C.
In Sandum Latin, the "auxiliary" verb is Esti, or 'to be'. All unconjugated verbs end with an -i. When one would conjugate it, it would end with -es. Again, with the phrases, more words are required for one meaning. Had, in English, would be Avi aves in Sandum Latin, utilising double verbs (as this litterally means 'to have have'). Went, in English, would be Alli aves in Sandum Latin, meaning -- literally -- 'To go have'.
In Sandum Latin, verbs are not the only things being conjugated. Sandum Latin draws base with Esperanto in that there are conjugations for words and verbs, and that these conjugations change. The similarities end, very much so, there in this area. Words are conjugated based on their placement in the sentence, the idea being expressed, and et cetera. The unconjugated form of words ends with -a, though this doesn't really change the meaning of the word. Though -a is only used for unconjugated times, it can also be used in the phrase meaning 'because'. In some speeches, the Speaker of the House has written «... civila est», which means the same thing. Also, the unconjugated forms of a word can be pluralized, meaning it ends with -ai. You will learn about pluralization in the next paragraph. The conjugated forms end with -us & -um. The acting noun always ends with -us, for example «Sandus Civilumi protectes», which means 'Sandus protects [her] citizens'. The noun being acted upon always ends with -um, just like the example before, «Sandus Civilumi protectes», because it is being acted on by Sandus, the citizens are being protected by Sandus. We will get to the meaning of the last -i soon.
For a long time in Sandum Latin, pluralization was infered. Though, the people eventually changed this. Plural nouns end with an -i, though some have stated concernes that this is to similar to the unconjugated verb ending -- it doesn't matter, as the nouns are only affected by the pluralization. In the previous paragraph the example was «Sandus Civilumi protectes», or 'Sandus protects [her] citizens'. Notice, the word Civilum, Unc.: Civila, ends with -i, this means that it is pluralized. As stated earlier in the previous paragraph, unconjugated words, too, can be pluralized, ending in -ai.
We will get to pronounciation in the next paragraph.
