The Federal Republic of Saint Charlie (Italian:Repubblica Federale di San Charlie) also commonly know as St.Charlie is a micronation located outside a small town close to Rome, Italy, with a region located in London, United Kingdom.
The biggest authority in the country is the President Whisky I, a West Highland Terrier, which covers the rank of President of the Federal Republic, and Chief of the Army. The micronation consists of 7 regions: New Ridgeway, Cascia del Pinzanello, Tor Pendente, Caroline Charlotte, Upper St.Charlie, Lower St.Charlie, and District, the capital city. The Republic created it's constitution the 23rd of November 2008, and the same day is now referred as its National Day.

History
During the month of November, different issues occurred in the Kingdom of St.Charlie, ruled by King Patrizio I. Patrizio was the absolute monatch of St.Charlie, and when it's health conditions started to worsen, he decided to abdicate, on the 15th of November. Then, the November Revolution was followed, when ex-St.Charlian citizens or familiars of the Monarch decided to take over the territory. Alexander Reinhardt, with the help of a Westie, took over the Royal Palace and declared independence from Italy. That westie was Whisky I. The 20th of November, Reinhardt and Whisky created the National Party of St.Charlie, inspired by the name of the Kingdom, as they both wanted to keep St.Charlie as the name of the nation. The 23rd of November, the Party presented to the citizens of the Ex-Kingdom the new constitution and the Government of the newborn Federal Republic. They later replaced the Euro, currency of the kingdom, with the Pianeta. The Federal Republic of St.Charlie was born.
As Reinhardt later decided that he wasn't the best person to rule a country, he resigned from the title of Secretary of the NPSC the 30th of November 2008. He'll be succeeded by Whisky I.
2009
January 2009 begins with the creation of the fourth St.Charlian region: New Ridgeway. The fourth region (also the smallest) becomes the major passepartout for all the people who desires to acquire the St.Charlian citizenship. The 6th of January, Whisky I applies for the Countries United in National Trade and the Grand Unified Micronational membership. It's the first time that the Federal Republic applies for a micronational organisation.
The 21st of January 2009, the Branson Act 2009 was approved. A few things were changed in the political system of the Federal Republic: the NPSC was no longer the only party permitted by constitution. Also, the Air Force would have been dismissed.
The 23rd of January, the St.Charlian Socialist Movement was created.
During February various changes are made to the system of St.Charlie. First of all the Order of the Blue Star is created. It's the first medal and order of St.Charlie ever made. Furthermore, the Ministry of Environmental Issues, with Suzy Rebisz as Head is founded for facing problems related to the environment and climate change. Also, the Pianeta, St.Charlian currency, is developed with the publishing of the 20PNT and 50PNT banknote. Concluding, the Ministero per le Informazioni Belliche is formed, and Leonard Von Sternburg is nominated in charge of it.
After knowing that a St.Charlian citizen wanted his territory in the countryside to become part of St.Charlie, the 9th of May, after various meetings and documents, it was decided the creation of the fifth St.Charlian region: Cascia del Pinzanello. The region officially became part of St.Charlie the 11th of May 2009, when the name was added to the St.Charlian Constitution.
Later during May, other main events such as the creation of a national broadcasting service and the signing of the Aberystwyth Agreement furtherly developed St.Charlie.

The Federal Republic of St.Charlie is currently led by the National Party of St.Charlie (NPSC), which was previously the only party permitted by Constitution before the Branson Act 2009.
The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic is elected by universal suffrage each year, with a campaign which starts on December and concludes on January with the elections. His work is to appoint the Cabinet, with the help of the President of the Federal Republic. The President of te Federal Republic is elected by the St.Charlian Parliament every three years.
Although he's the most important person in the Federal Republic, he's usually a representative figure of St.Charlie, while the power is executed by the Prime Minister and it's Cabinet.

Recognized Micronations
St.Charlie recognizes various micronations in which it signed a treaty of mutual recognition with. There are only a very few micronations that were automatically recognized by St.Charlie, without the use of a formal treaty. They were recognized in the first week of existance of the nation, and no other micronation was added to the liste thereafter. However, there are some micronations that are not recognized by St.Charlie for various reasons. At the moment, the only micronation whose territories are not recognized by the Federal Republic is Westarctica, as it claims Siple Island, which is officially known being part of the Grand Duchy of Flandrensis.

Military
The Federal Republic of St.Charlie has its own armed forces, known as the S.C.A.F (St.Charlie Armed Forces) with four branches of service. Since the Federal Republic is the only micronation in the center of Italy and one of the few in London (together with the Empire of Austenasia), the SCAF is considered to be the most advanced in the whole region, excluding of course Italy and the United Kingdom.
The S.C.A.F is divided into the following three branches, plus a sub-branch of the Army:

- Navy (Marina St.Charliana)
- Border Troops (Forze di Confine)
The Armed forces previously included an Air Force, but its activity was suspended due to its uselessness.
The Intelligence agency of St.Charlie is also related to the Ministry of Defense, but not directly related to the S.C.A.F.
The name of the agency is Ministero per le Informazioni Belliche (in English: Ministry for Bellic Information).

Land and Geography
The Federal Republic consists of a small territory divided in five federations located in Central Italy and in West London.
- Upper St.Charlie - The northern part of the country, located above the District federation. Most of the land consist of woods. Half of the region is also owned by the President Whisky I which periodically goes there for vacation.
- Lower St.Charlie - The southern section of the Old St.Charlie. It locates the Ministry of Armed Forces and the Lake.
- District - The central region and capital city, located in the middle of Upper St.Charlie. It was until the 5th of January, the most populous area of the country, until the annexation of New Ridgeway. The city is also famous for his town square where military parades are located on the National Day.
- New Ridgeway - The smallest region of the Federal Republic, and also, the only region outside Italy. New Ridgeway is located in West London and is also the official residence of Alexander Reinhardt.
- Cascia del Pinzanello - The biggest region of the Federal Republic. Located in the countryside, it currently is the first and only agricultural source of the Federal Republic, regularly producing fruits, vegetables, and also wine.
- Caroline Charlotte - The only federation located in Germany. It is a small region with a park. However, the territory claimed is larger than New Ridgeway
- Tor Pendente - Located next to Bologna, Tor Pendente will soon host the University. It is in the countryside.
Flora and Fauna
Many small animals can be seen in Lower and Upper St.Charlie, such as the West European Hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus), the Common Toad (Bufo bufo), but also the Little Owl (Athene noctua), which visits the St.Charlian regions in spring.
However, in New Ridgeway, several tree squirrels like the Grey Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) are common visitors of the St.Charlian English gardens.
Newspapers and Television
After the constitution
The Constitution of the Federal Republic of St.Charlie, in Section One, Article 3, clearly states that:

Press
The Federal Republic of St.Charlie publishes foreign newspapers, such as the Italian newspapers, but also micronations' newspapers, like The Charwood Tribune or The Danburnian Article. The Federal Republic has a newspaper itself, called The St.Charlian Observer, a periodical newspaper which started typing the 1st January 2009.
Television
St.Charlian citizens regularly watch British and Italian television, however, St.Charlie has a State television, called St.Charlie Broadcasting Network or St.Charlie TV. It is used for publishing videos of St.Charlie, the national anthem, and slideshows. It will soon include news and interviews.
